The words I was planning to write have changed since my horrible experience this morning. My immense garden has been transformed into a gigantic un-equal-surfaced skating rink in its entirety!!! When I pulled up the shatter from the front door, I didn’t notice that right away, and ET jumped out of the door , immediately lost balance, and did so with almost each step! The recent snowfall turned to black ice and cold temps encouraged this transformation. With utmost careful steps I could reach the front lawn where one of the main feeding areas is situated. From that moment on everything went on in slow motion, determined to give the birds their first feed, changing the routine, to the back garden first avoiding the pebbled area, then all to other areas…
When I finally could reach the front door,( other entrances were unfortunately still locked), I had spent more time than usual, but was grateful to be able to return.
Then I noticed that ET was nowhere to be seen, another half hour to locate her, and watch her run to the door by falling and standing…Bliss. It was about nine, and time for our Sunday breakfast!
PS. Since then their lunch was also served, I don’t think I’ll leave home again today. The photos are from this morning.
I had no idea I had starlings in the garden!!!
Happy and peaceful Sunday 🙂
