Calling me? What have I done again?
Happy Thursday everyone 🙂
They heard the South wind sighing
A murmur of the rain;
And they knew that Earth was longing
To see them all again.
While the snow-drops still were sleeping
Beneath the silent sod;
They felt their new life pulsing
Within the dark, cold clod.
Not a daffodil nor daisy
Had dared to raise its head;
Not a fairhaired dandelion
Peeped timid from its bed;
Though a tremor of the winter
Did shivering through them run;
Yet they lifted up their foreheads
To greet the vernal sun.
And the sunbeams gave them welcome.
As did the morning air
And scattered o’er their simple robes
Rich tints of beauty rare.
Soon a host of lovely flowers
From vales and woodland burst;
But in all that fair procession
The crocuses were first.
First to weave for Earth a chaplet
To crown her dear old head;
And to beautify the pathway
Where winter still did tread.
And their loved and white haired mother
Smiled sweetly ‘neath the touch,
When she knew her faithful children
Were loving her so much.

Each day is full of surprises. Some are good, some are not so good. I have again or still squirrels in my house. That’s not a good surprise when you open a door and one jumps over you and escapes to another room to hide. Screams from me aren’t helping either. There’s no way of finding them, it seems they like me so much that now they’re sharing my house too. I thought they ended up between the roof and the ceiling in one way or another and they were prisoners there. What a mistake!
I found where they are entering the house. Some parts of the outside walls are covered with ivy that penetrates the building through. At one point the birds had nest in them. The other day I saw one tiny squirrel disappearing in the ivy. So no more feeling sorry that they were there involuntarily. They live there. One room that one of the squirrels damaged, and now is half under construction -we had to stop covering the ceiling after isolation material, because the planks need warmth and that room is unheated, we need to wait warmer days- and now my bedroom that I only use in summertime has been invaded by this tiny and so “nice” animals. My harvest apples stored there kept them going…It was such a beautiful room, furnished recently.
I’m leaving under construction room’s windows open during the day, hoping that they may leave me alone. Have I just said that? My squirrels…
There are always two sides to every story…
Wishing you a wonderful new week full of smiles and surprises…
Bunnies are cuddly
The large and the small
But I like chocolate ones
The best of them all.
I think of the garden after the rain;
And hope to my heart comes singing,
At morn the cherry-blooms will be white,
And the Easter bells be ringing!

Thank you for hugs and sympathy you sent with your touching words…Take care and be safe 🙂
I am greeting you all from my Tuesday, March 24, 2015… Today was meant to finish the work I’ve been working on, and do a lot of other things and not posting here. It was misty while feeding the birds early morning, meant also not running down the hill for sunrise photos. Later when I opened the front door with a cup of coffee in hand to greet my birds and the day, I saw the sun coming behind the tall Leyland Cypress and I wanted to share these images with you…
I wish you all a beautiful day 🙂
