If you choose to live alone and surrounded by nature, maybe the only time you feel lonely is when it snows. Everywhere is covered with that magical faerie dust, thick and cold. Life stops still. The quietude, vast whiteness, under the heavy snow broken branches that just gave up to exist… So sad, their unheard cry hurts, painful.
Then one feels lonely, no arm around your shoulders, no fingers to wipe your teardrops, no soft words to assure you that it’ll be over, it’ll be alright soon…Questions rise and questions remain unanswered, each time.
Snow has that effect, one has time to ponder, the knowledge of not to be able to see and meet loved ones is hard. Phone conversations are not enough. Time to knock wood, because there’s still power, telephone, Internet, central heating and a great choice of food.
That said, it is an amazing time to feed the birds non-stop. They are so eager to be fed: well and quick. Squirrels are everywhere. If snow stops it is also a wonderful time to click…
It is still winter and better make the most of it! The spring is on the way: my first daffodils, crocuses, snowdrops are everywhere…
Since I wrote this, the sun has come out, and the roads are cleared: It is a crisp, beautiful Tuesday! Time to treat myself 🙂
Have a stunning Tuesday 🙂
