I’m writing about photography although there will never be a “photographer” title behind my name. Because I cannot do injustice to a wonderful profession. I love photography, it fills my precious time on earth, it gives me joy, and makes me forget my lost love, almost! It’s thrilling to capture those valuable moments in one’s life…They are then registered forever.
For me it is not only a hobby, but more and more it’s taking over other loved pastimes; it is an urge to capture the important things, moments in my own way. There are millions of amazing photographers out there that I admire, and love. Sometimes I come across an image from an x “photographer”, and I can’t find what I’m looking for according to the title. So it’s very personal, very much open to debate. Nowadays my Facebook friends are mostly photographers that I met on FAA. They are wonderful persons, fantastic photographers. But some go that far on “processing” that I don’t, can’t enjoy a simple sunset photo.
So I’m coming to the point why I’m writing about photography. Happily I’ve learned photography in these wonderful digital times. I can click as much as I like; all I need is a computer to look at them, and delete if that’s the case. Altering a photo is taboo for me! I’m talking about natural photography and my aim is to keep nature’s beauties as I find them in nature. Why should I alter a sunrise/sunset or a wonderful flower and add a black background? I have black background flowers in my galleries. They are all taken naturally, considering the sun rays, and/ or shadows where I’m taking the photos in front or they are taken indoors…
Some altered photos are truly -for me- ridiculous. They are more like unsuccessful paintings than photos!
So why am I on this about? We have hours long comments/replies/reciprocating comments on FAA. I love receiving, thanking and returning them. Except when I come across one saying: “great processing/editing” part! Then I see red! People should realize that we all do things differently, we have our own style, our own convictions…
Yes, I’ve just received one of those…
