It’s been a long winter; everywhere was covered with snow as far as eyes could see. Humans were in need of fruit, vegetables, meat, and poultry, but there were none. They had eaten most of their livestock, almost finished all their winter stock.
And nature? Nature suffered more than the humans, no water, no food, icy winds froze most of the birds, and then they became food for the others. Sad but it is the natural circle of life, nothing lost, and everything has its purpose.
After another cold, very dark night: no moon or stars to be seen, they opened their eyes to the warm, happy – mostly pinks and oranges- colours of dawn. Colours arrived to their world and not only black! They had enough of that colour! With trembling, cold feet they all came out to watch the stunning sunrise they could not compare to any they had seen over the years.
The sky was the biggest party, the most colourful one with dancing forms and clouds of all shapes: a happy sky greeting the flabbergasted crowd cheerfully.
They cherished each and every moment: the birds, the strongest survivors of this horrendous winter circling on this extraordinary sky of dawn, reminded them of good old times and some of them just started to weep with happiness. It was an awesome dawn, welcoming the feeble sun, getting brighter and emerging now rapidly to warm their frozen world.
A sunrise is always a phenomenal moment of the day. For this folk it was their saviour, the happiest moment announcing that their ordeal now would be over. They respectfully bowed before this natural source of warmth, thawing their frozen feelings and hearts.
Jubilation, laughter, and delightful faces would now lead to a new generation: healthy babies to be born, loved, and bred under the watchful eyes of sun, moon, and the stars! The strength of winter yielding way to the awakening of spring, granting the humans hope and happiness for the years to come…
And to live happily ever after…
